Hazel-Rah is one of New York City’s pre-eminent avant-rock units. The band is headed by Tim Byrnes (Kayo Dot, Friendly Bears, PAK), and has featured the talents of many great musicians in its 6-year existence, including Toby Driver (Kayo Dot), Charlie Looker (Extra Life), and Mike Pride. Their style has been described as ‘juxtaposing crushing dissonance with epic cadences, and advanced rhythmic structures with trance-like passages.’ They have worked with the Africantape record label.
